There is no way this song is sung from a nihilistic view point. Nothing rise against does supports nihilism. The first line of the song is "Set me off like dynamite", and there are a handful of other lines that I don't have to point out that call for change.
The only kind of uncertainty in this song is the fact that he wants to make a difference but dosn't know how he can revearse all the damage that has been done Next I would like to address the comments about Rise Against being "hippies".
This comment couldn't be further from the truth. Just because someone has political views that shift to the left dosn't make them a hippie. These people are openly calling for revolution, even if it is violent. A "hippie" wouldn't do that. General Comment here is a perfect video for a perfect song that you guys should consider youtube.

Although staying true to the original it has a little bit of punk in it which makes the track stand out even more! Good stuff. But some songs songs should be touched, and this is 1 of them, But i must admit that in this case i prefer the Rise Against version.. I have been obsessed with the original for quite some time now, so I didn't like this one nearly as much.
