It's time to make our great escape from the compound which, for us, is being destroyed under our very feet since we convinced Eden to destroy himself. But President Eden is still very much plugged into the system, and his robotic Enclave friends will again assist you in getting out of dodge as quickly and as safely as possible.
When you reach an office alcove, hack the computer if you can to free a powerful beast named Deathclaw, which you can then kill as rapidly as you can for massive experience. He packs a powerful punch, though, so be sure to down him as quickly and efficiently as you can!
And comb the desk next to the computer for more items, including some healing items like a Stimpak. Further down, the fray will intensify greatly. Gun turrets and mobile robotic units will do their best to nullify the human Enclave threat as much as possible meaning, you shouldn't turn your ire on them as long as they're helping you , but they might not succeed in certain areas of getting rid of the threat completely, leaving a few half-damaged enemies for you to kill.
Once they're dead, you can proceed forward, but be sure to check underneath the metal grating you're walking over via a staircase leading down, where a plethora of treasure chests lie in wait.
Open them for all sorts of goods. Now, we're almost out of Raven Rock, but not quite yet. When you come across a light blue force field on your right as you're heading forward, you know you're headed in the right direction though this entire area is completely linear, so getting lost shouldn't be much of an issue for you.
There's going to be minimal help in taking out these last Enclave soldiers, and worse yet, they're decked out in powerful Tesla Armor and are toting, of all weapons, Missile Launchers. Quickly hack the computer so you can get through the force field.
Grab the items you can of most interest will be the Gatling Laser and Plasma Pistol , and then get ready to fight this final set of goons, concentrating on one at a time.
The humongous amount of Stimpaks you've found and likely already had will come in handy here, since missiles do a number on your limbs. Take out these final foes and make sure to grab their Tesla Armor as you run outside.
The situation outside is hectic. You won't find any Enclave ground forces thankfully , but if you were nice to the Super Mutant named Fawkes earlier in the game, he will be out here taking shots at the interesting helicopter craft the Enclave uses. Speaking of which, those helicopters are taking off en masse heading to an unknown destination. It seems like some sort of invasion force is brewing. What's going on!? Well, teleport instantly to the Brotherhood of Steel's stronghold at The Citadel to find out.
Once you arrive at The Citadel, you'll find it much the same way you left it when you took off earlier. But worry not, for even if things in the courtyard of the former Pentagon seem like business as usual, once you enter the building itself and head down into the laboratory, things are a little more hectic.
Elder Lyons and her daughter, who heads the Brotherhood of Steel's elite unit Lyon's Pride are arguing over how to act next. And that's where you come in. Until the Elder and Sarah begin talking to you directly, they don't know that the Enclave has the G. Making matters worse, the Enclave has sent everything they had to protect that position and don't intend whatsoever to let it go without a fight.
After either holding onto or giving away the FEV Virus keeping in mind that the Brotherhood intends on destroying it after examining it , you'll be given an option by Sarah for some new armor which you should decline, since you have Tesla Armor, much more powerful than whatever she's offering you. Then, when you're ready, speak to her again to begin the game's final mission. Fallout 3 Wiki Guide. Last Edited: 20 May am. Part 1 You're John Henry Eden's prisoner Part 2 If it's not clear that there's a power struggle between Autumn and Eden by the time you get here, it will become clear once you arrive.
In any case, this short break will not last. On the approach to Raven Rock Level 2, Colonel Autumn will countermand Eden's orders, turning the entire base hostile against the player character. The exact point at which he does this varies. If one enters Level 2 through the lab area between the cells, he will make the announcement upon arrival at Level 2. Alternatively, should one try to pass through the mess hall to reach Level 2, he will make the announcement upon reaching the stairs.
In either case, there is now a base full of hostile soldiers between the Lone Wanderer and their goal. During the trip from one's cell to President Eden, there are several things one may wish to collect. In the mess hall, there is a pantry area with of each kind of packaged food one has so far encountered Pork 'N Beans, Cram, etc.
The soldiers patrolling the mess hall will pick these up and occasionally eat them, so the faster one reaches the hall after being released the bigger the haul.
The laboratories also tend to have a few ammunition boxes and other assorted loot. There are also the Enclave soldiers and personnel, who carry a large amount of valuable, if quite heavy loot, such as Tesla armor , Enclave power armor , plasma rifles , laser rifles , as well as an abundance of ammunition. The Bobblehead is in Colonel Autumn's room at the end of 2B, just before entering 2C the war room , along with a footlocker containing the ZAX self-destruct sequence.
Also, in one of the rooms northwest corner of 2B one will find one of Dr. Li 's assistants, Anna Holt —she was captured at the purifier. She'll tell the Wanderer that although she first resisted, she eventually decided to help the Enclave. If one opts to kill her for her betrayal, this will result in negative Karma, however, if one leaves her, they will not receive any negative Karma, even if the base is destroyed.
Eventually, the player character will enter a room with two sentry bots finishing off two Enclave guards interestingly, killing the sentry bots results in bad Karma. If one attempts to try to speak to them they'll tell the Lone Wanderer to "continue on as the President is waiting.
He informs the player character of his plan to "cleanse" the Capital Wasteland of the mutation and disease which has gripped it, by using a modified version of the FEV , previously used in the creation of the original super mutants, in order to kill any mutated or irradiated persons living in the Wasteland and start the Capital Wasteland anew.
Despite Colonel Autumn's previously callous, mean-spirited demeanor, Eden reveals that Autumn in fact disagrees with the President's way of thinking, and thinks there must be a less "extreme" method of renewing the Capital Wasteland. Note that Eden does not allow you to leave the base without taking the modified FEV, regardless of the results of your conversation with him.
After you leave Eden's chamber, the robots in the subsequent hallways turn on the Enclave soldiers, helping you out. Along the way out there are plenty of force-fielded areas with Enclave crates.
Again you must hack the terminals to deactivate. There is a terminal that will open a deathclaw crate, resulting in its captive deathclaw attacking everything in sight, aside from the player who it will ignore until all other hostiles have been killed.
You can also open the crate the deathclaw is held captive in with a Lockpick of The crate is directly beside the terminal. On the way out, you will find a Gatling laser in a crate behind a blue barrier unlockable by a computer terminal. In the last group of 2 soldiers, one is wielding a missile launcher and wearing Tesla Armor. Once outside you will observe a fleet of Vertibirds leaving the base.
If President Eden's self-destruct was activated during the conversation with him, the base explodes and the tunnel is blocked with rock; regardless of whether or not the self-destruct was activated, there is no going back inside. At this point you'll meet the super mutant Fawkes if you released him from his cell in Vault 87 , who will be armed with a Gatling laser and taking care of some Enclave soldiers.
If you have positive Karma , you have the option of asking him to join you. Midway through, Elder Lyons will ask you for further information about the Enclave. You may give him the FEV virus Eden gave you for Karma and "proper disposal after the scribes have studied it". Regardless of your choice here the remaining conversation remains unchanged. How do you fix it? Autumn's plan is similar to taking your pencil and attempting to fix the drawing without starting over, you weave in and out of lines, and erase things where necessary.
Eden's plan is simply to grab a new piece and start completely from scratch. Its going to be a lot more hard work, but ultimately you might end up with a better picture. Thus, Autumn's plan is to attempt to integrate the Enclave and the wastelanders into one group, while protecting them from the creatures of the wasteland and such. Eden's plan is simply to create a blank slate and give the Enclave a homeland with nothing to hinder them. Also, keep in mind that Eden's plan is not necessarily "evil.
Not only that, but in the end his plan ultimately kills more "bad" things than it does innocent wastelanders because it targets mutants centaurs, supermutants, etc. The vast majority of the population of the CW is things that are either 1. The minority of the pop are wastelanders like those living at Megaton. In which case makes Eden's plan simply an act of total war. There's going to be collateral damage.
Much like carpet bombing a heavily populated city. Augustus didn't trust Eden, he openly rebelled against Eden. Why the hell would he want to honor him?
I agree with Autumn about the masses flocking to the Enclave for protection and order. Perhaps his desicion to remain with the Enclave and try and change it from the inside should be lauded - to a degree, he could have cut-and-run - by the Enclave's opponents; but not to me his actions got everyone under his command killed in a personal war and that is unforgivable. Eden's solution ultimately provides a better and more stable future for the Enclave as a people, even if it is under President Eden.
Seems wishful thinking to me. One thing I can't understand about Autumn's plan is how he expects Enclave soldiers who gladly shoot up wastelanders to simply go along and suddenly become comrades to a bunch of people they were taught from birth to hate. If he was the only one, his rebellion wouldn't have worked out so well. If they only blindly follow orders they would have sided with Eden and shot Augustus on site. But many didn't they took up arms against Eden.
The battle in Raven Rock was machines vs humans with the Humans siding with Augustus. Eden never came back over the PA to clarify that Autumn was the enemy did he?
For all they knew there's was a danerous wastelander on the loose and the President was being rushed to saftey, nobody question never having seen him for 30 years because of "the reassuring voice of authority "; why should anyone question the actions of the President's loyal confident and their commander - especially in the absense of Eden telling them to arrest Autumn?
The Enclave are people, not mindless machines that just follow orders. They weren't like that in Fallout 2. I don't like how they were depicted in Fallout 3.
I can't sympathise with people like that, because they aren't people. No matter how well intended their goals are. I like to think that many of them wanted change and Augustus went through the ranks over the years and built up support. Like "when the time comes are you going to be on my side?
