How much do crew boats cost

Most of our high school programs rely on Vespoli for the delivery of their boats and costs are dependent on the location from our factory in New Haven, CT. We try to be as efficient as possible, often combining deliveries on one trailer. We also attend many of the major rowing events and regattas and can often arrange for boat pick-up at the event. To save delivery costs, some coaches are willing to make the trek to New Haven. We welcome you to come visit and encourage you to arrange a tour of our facilities while you are here.

On average, it takes weeks from start to finish to build our boats. While we rely on technology and computerization, everything is hand-made in a sense. Our boats are a labor of love, and most of the cost of building our boats is for labor. We put hours into building an eight. For new organizations, we do require setting up an account with Vespoli, a credit application and pre-established payment plan. Many programs take advantage of our Fleet Financing program, which are 4 to 7-year programs tailored to your boathouse and budget.

We calculate a predictable annual budget amount. The final step to take is to consider what age and what condition the boat should be in. This will impact cost greatly so it is important to spend some time thinking this over.

Again, if the boat is for beginners or rowers who train infrequently, then an older boat will suffice. However if the boat is for a competitive crew, then a new boat would be the best option. No matter what boat you end up choosing, we wish you the best of luck with your new purchase and let us know how you get on with the search and the final rowing boat cost in the comments!

By accounting for depreciation in the budget, we ensure adequate funds are available to pay down loans and purchase new equipment. As a club sport, we receive very limited funds from the school to offset our expenses. We are indebted to our generous sponsors who reduce the fees we need to charge our families. Skip to content.
